Gérard de Courcy is inspired by the atmosphere of the French north coast. His sailboats, emerging like colourful flashes of light from the agitated sea for split seconds, only to disappear once again, have made him a renowned artist. De Courcy masters the art of impressionist dissolution of form like no one else. He takes representational art to its limits, yet remains true to the image.
