This painting is a tribute to the life of the worlds
greatest footballer George Best.
The image portrays George Best in the form of a
superhero on the field playing in his beloved east Belfast home town.
The comic strips ‘Best condensed’ tells a short story of memorable George Best quotes throughout the years.
It shows various clubs he had played and guested for.
George did have his battles off the pitch too but he
certainly put his good talent to use when on the field.
The title ‘The 5th Beatle’ comes from Best – “I was 19 or 20 when The Beatles were at their peak and I was coming up to the peak of my career, too. I was also the first footballer to have long hair and that’s how I got my nickname ”the Fifth Beatle”.
